Our society is changing…and not always for the better. Over the past years, we’ve found that children attending Dubnoff are increasingly more troubled. They’ve failed in education and placement settings before coming to us. In many cases we’re their last resort.
As our childrens’ troubles grow so do our challenges. One of the greatest we face is funding to support our work.
Our Funding
Dubnoff is supported by federal, state and county funds, including MediCal, grants from foundations and corporations, client fees and individual donations. However, we face a severe shortfall in as public dollars continue to shrink . For more than half a century, gifts have been our school's mainstay. Now we need them more than ever.
When you donate to Dubnoff Center, you can be confident that your money is doing what you want it to do: 88 cents of every dollar we receive goes to the programs that help our children. Only 12 cents goes adminstration costs, salaries, fundraising and other expenses. That’s among the highest efficiency rates you’ll find in the non-profit world.
Your gifts make it possible for us to:
’ΔΆ Adopt new technology to enable our students to learn faster
and more easily.
’ΔΆ Give our students vocational training so they can find productive employment in their own communities.
’ΔΆ Provide the boys in our group homes a safe, family oriented, stable environment, for many the first they’ve ever had.
’ΔΆ Enable our teachers and therapists to acquire new, more effective educational and treatment techniques.
’ΔΆ Provide our pre-school aged children with improved playground facilities, arts and crafts, and other materials to better prepare them for kindergarten.
We happily accept donations from individuals and corporations. Many local employers sponsor matching-gift programs. We’re happy to name a facility, a fund, an endowment or a specific program to honor an organization, individual or corporation.
We have formed partnerships with a number of community foundations and organizations that have helped us in the past. These include The Ahmanson Foundation, the Parson's Foundation, the Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation, the Northrop Grumman Corporation and the Weingart Foundation.
Building our Future
Gifts to the Dubnoff Center are tax deductible. They can be made in the form of monetary contributions, gifts-in-kind, pledges, appreciated stock, real estate or other forms of property. Estate planning options are also available to help our friends benefit the Dubnoff Center.
