Message from the President

For over 60 years, the Dubnoff Center for Child Development, nestled in
a tree-lined area of North Hollywood, has been a warm and nurturing community for children with special needs.

This is a place of hope. Over the years, I have watched our skilled staff work wonders. A child who enters Dubnoff scared, alone and frustrated, leaves us with a new sense of self esteem, and the possibility of a brighter future.

We have sadness - kids with repeated patterns of failure who have moved from school to school. We deal with their depression, anger and hostility. We know that our Center is literally the last chance for some of them; if they fail here, they may be placed in a more restrictive environment.

But we have a belief that makes Dubnoff unique - that these kids, often labeled as "unteachable," can learn to reach new heights. And so, with our culture of compassion, along with the finest educational and therapeutic services possible, we see them through to successes many of them never dreamed possible.

That is why the joy you feel and see at Dubnoff far outweighs the sadness.
